Whatever it is you do online there will be some aspect of the tasks that you perform that will require technical skills to complete.

Today you need some tech skills to get online because the only way you can do this is throught the use of a computer, whether it is a standard desktop personal computer, a laptop or notebook, ultraportable, or a windows machine or an apple mac. So before you can even start to access the internet you are going to need to know enough about your computer of choice to enable you to switch it on and start a web brower and connect to the interent through a slow dial up connection or over broadband via DSL or a cable modem.

Everything you do therefore is technology related and if you find it hard to pick up technical skils then your progress to any online activities is going to be difficult and slow.

The best advice is not to rush the initial steps, but take time out to read and research all you can about what you need to do to use a windows or mac computer and then practice as much as you can. Most of all do not be scared of these machines - they are only computers and they should do what you tell them. The trick is just knowing what to tell them and how to do it to ensure that they really do the tasks that you want them to do.

So best of luck with this stage. Just take it easy and the knowledge and of course the skills will come.
