How To Install or Add A New Font To PhotoShop CS4 in Windows Vista + XP
Actually installing new fonts for use with Adobe Photoshop (CS4 or any other version!) is so easy and it is just a matter of installing the new fonts intot your Windows operating system (Vista, XP etc) and that then means you can use the fonts in other applications as well such as Word etc.
All you need to do is just get your font file and paste it into the Windows font folder and then you are done! So EASY!
If your fonts are in a folder you will first have to get them out of the folder and if the folder is zipped then you will have to unzip it before proceding…
Take a copy of your font file and navigate in your Windows File browser to the Windows > Fonts folder which is probably on your C: Drive, and then open it
Then just paste the font file you have copied into the foled (where you will see a load of other fonts already installed).
Your font will then be automatically installed by Windows and will be ready to use in Photoshop too.
You can easily check if the font is installed ok by looking for it in Microsoft Word or other document editor, but it should be working in PhotoShop now anyway.
This procedure was tested on Windows Vista with Photoshop CS4 and worked fine!
Here’s a video that describes the process if you prefer a visual aid – it’s not me and the accent might be tricky for some of you to understand – but hey – it works!!
Enjoy….
